While hosting German Chancellor Merz in the Oval Office, U.S. President Trump made evaluations about the course of the Russia-Ukraine war.
"PUTIN WILL MAKE AN UNPLEASANT ATTACK"
Trump, who said, "Putin will make an unpleasant attack," stated, "Putin said, 'We have no choice but to attack Ukraine.' I told him, 'Don't do this, you shouldn't.'"
Trump also mentioned, "If we see that Russia will not stop, at that point there will be very severe sanctions. You would be surprised at how tough I can be if Russia crosses the line. If an agreement cannot be reached, we will be tough against both Russia and Ukraine. Tango is done with two people. I stopped the India-Pakistan war; I wish I could stop the Russia-Ukraine war in the same way," he said.
