During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, U.S. President Donald Trump stated, "We will take ownership of the Gaza Strip. If necessary, we will send in troops. We will develop the area. It will create thousands of jobs and will be something that the entire Middle East can be proud of. Let 1.8 million Palestinians settle in countries like Jordan and Egypt."

US President Trump held a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he received at the White House. Noting that Gaza is now a vast area of complete destruction, Trump argued that it would be much better for Palestinians in Gaza to go to new settlements to be built in neighboring countries, primarily Egypt and Jordan.
"WE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING THE COLLAPSED BUILDINGS"
Trump stated, "The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do business there. We will own it and we will be responsible for removing all the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the ground, and for getting rid of the collapsed buildings."
"PALESTINIANS SHOULD SETTLE IN COUNTRIES LIKE EGYPT AND JORDAN"
Trump said, "The only reason Palestinians want to return to Gaza is that they have no other alternatives." He argued that approximately 1.8 million Palestinians in the region would go to multiple new living areas to be built in neighboring countries and would live better there.
"WE WILL DEVELOP GAZA"
Trump said they would do whatever is necessary for Gaza, commenting, "We will bring peace and develop it. It will create thousands of jobs and will be something that the entire Middle East will be proud of." Discussing the potential US position in Gaza, Trump stated, "I see a long-term ownership position there, and I believe it could bring great stability to the entire Middle East."
Trump explained that everyone he spoke to loved the idea of the US owning and "developing" the Gaza Strip, claiming that this way they would create jobs for thousands of people there. On the other hand, when asked about the possibility of US troops going to the region to ensure security in the Gaza Strip, Trump indicated that he did not dismiss that possibility.
"WE WILL SEND TROOPS IF NECESSARY"
In response to the question about the possibility of sending troops, Trump replied, "We will do it if necessary." When asked what he envisioned for Gaza after its reconstruction, he said he imagined the Gaza Strip as an "international" place where people from different parts of the world would live.
"THE POTENTIAL IN THE GAZA STRIP IS INCREDIBLE"
The US President stated, "I think you will make it an international, incredible place. The potential in the Gaza Strip is incredible. There will be representatives from all over the world living there. Of course, Palestinians will also live there. We must learn from history. We cannot allow history to repeat itself. We have an opportunity to do something extraordinary."
"I WILL VISIT THE PLACES IN THE MIDDLE EAST"
When asked if he would visit the Middle East, Trump replied, "I love Israel very much. I will visit there, I will visit Gaza, I will visit Saudi Arabia. I will also visit other places in the Middle East. The Middle East is an incredible place, very vibrant, so it is truly one of the beautiful places and has great people."
