UK Police Arrest 3 İn Connection With Manchester Bomb

24.05.2017 15:13

The investigation into Monday's deadly Manchester suicide bombing continued full pace on Wednesday with police arresting three more suspects.

The latest arrests bring the total number of detentions related to the terror attack to four.

"Three men have been arrested after police executed warrants in South Manchester in connection with the ongoing investigation into Monday night's horrific attack at the Manchester Arena," Greater Manchester Police said.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, hours after the terror attack that killed at least 22 people and injured 64 others.

British-born Salman Abedi, 22, was from a Libyan background and remains the main suspect in the suicide attack that targeted a foyer area of the Manchester Arena as people left a pop concert.

Police have raided at least three addresses linked to Abedi and carried out a controlled explosion at one of the locations yesterday.

The U.K.'s national terror threat level has been raised to 'critical' from 'severe' after an evaluation by terrorism specialists.

With this 'critical' level, soldiers will protect some key sites such as Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, embassies and parliament.

Meanwhile up to 10 victims have been identified so far by the British authorities. The youngest is eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos. Two Polish nationals are among the victims.

The Turkish authorities in London confirmed to Anadolu Agency they had received no information that any Turkish citizens were affected in the Manchester attack. -
