In the Derik district of Mardin, Umut Güzel, a graduate of Derik Cumhuriyet Secondary School, who answered all questions correctly in the central exam within the scope of the High School Transition System (LGS) and scored a perfect 500 points, ranking among the top students in Turkey, was placed in his first choice, Istanbul Kabataş Boys' High School.
Umut Güzel, a teacher's child living in the Cevizpınar neighborhood of Derik district, scored a perfect 500 on the LGS and ranked among the 452 first-place finishers across Turkey. After the placement results were announced, Umut Güzel was placed in Istanbul Kabataş Erkek Lisesi, which he said was his dream and his first choice.
"I REACHED MY GOAL"
Güzel said, "Throughout this process, my goal was Kabataş High School from the beginning, and I reached my goal. I think everyone can reach their goals by studying regularly and systematically. In the future, I aim to become a software engineer abroad. I thank my family, my teachers, and everyone who contributed to this process. I didn't attend any private tutoring. I tried to help my mother as much as possible at home and used my free time efficiently."

His father Halim Güzel, a Social Studies teacher at Cumhuriyet Secondary School, said, "We are very happy and delighted that my son Umut has achieved this success. Hopefully, all children will reach their goals. Our school administration and our teacher colleagues have a great contribution to this success. I thank them all. His mother Bilge Güzel, a housewife, expressed pride in her son's success, saying, "My son's achievement brings us great joy. His biggest dream was Kabataş High School, and he achieved it.
