Un Condemns PKK Terrorist Attacks On Turkey

28.07.2015 21:48

Kurdistan Workers' Party is denounced after wave of recent terror attacks.

The United Nations on Tuesday condemned the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) after a recent wave of terrorist attacks in Turkey.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters in New York that the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon extended his "deepest condolences" to the government and people of Turkey and that the UN condemns "any and all terrorist attacks".

In response to a question by Anadolu Agency, he said the UN also specifically condemned PKK's recent terrorist strikes that have killed a number of Turkish servicemen during the latest wave that began when 32 victims were killed in southern Sanliurfa province on July 20 in a suicide attack by a man linked to Daesh.

Turkey, which is also grappling with a string of attacks by Daesh, has carried out a wave of arrests of members of both groups and conducted airstrikes against Daesh and PKK targets in Syria and Iraq, respectively.
