Turkish security forces killed at least eight PKK terrorists in northern Iraq on Monday, officials said.
The Turkish Air Force killed four PKK terrorists after they were spotted by a drone in Mount Suki region, on the Iraqi side of the border, said a statement issued by the Hakkari Governor's Office
Later on Monday, four PKK terrorists were killed in another airstrike at Avasin Basyan area of northern Iraq, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children. -
