Major indexes on the US stock market turned positive on Wednesday after a weak opening as volatility started to decline.
The Dow Jones added 100 points to 33,921 with Coca-Cola and IBM gaining around 1% each. The S&P 500 opened 4 points lower but quickly recovered by adding 6 points to reach 4,141 at 9.53 a.m. EDT (1353GMT).
The Nasdaq was off 40 at the opening bell before shaving 8 points to 13,777.
Netflix was down 7.6% after the world's largest online streaming platform said it missed membership expectations, adding less than 4 million new subscribers in the first quarter.
The VIX volatility index was on the rise for a straight third day, up 2% to above the 19 level before retreating 0.9% to 18.5.
Bitcoin was down 1.5% to $55,500 as it tried to find footing around the critical support level of $56,200. -
