US stocks opened Tuesday on a high note after closing lower Monday on concerns about an economic downturn amid price pressures.
The Dow Jones industrial was at 32,657 points, up 434 points from the previous close.
The S&P 500 gained 61 to 4,069, while the Nasdaq was up by 235 to 11,897.
The VIX volatility index, known as the fear index, dropped 3.13% to 26.54 at GMT1423. The dollar index rose 0.75% to 103.4.
Precious metals were mixed. Gold was up 0.42% to $1,821.5 and silver rose 0.80% to $21.7.
Steel prices were down.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading at $114.88, up 0.55% at 1350GMT, while WTI also rose 0.54% to $112.44. -
