Wholesale inventories in the US rose 1.8% to $895.4 billion in June, according to Commerce Department figures released Wednesday.
The figure, which measures the change in the total value of goods held in inventory by wholesalers, was expected to show an increase of 1.9% from the previous month.
The figure in May was revised to $879.6 billion for a monthly gain of 1.9%.
Wholesale trade sales, also known as total sales of merchant wholesalers, rose 1.8% to $709.6 billion in June.
While the estimate was a gain of 0.9% in June, the level in May was revised to a 0.7% increase. -
