Uzbek Media Delegation Visits Anadolu Agency

05.01.2018 13:13

Opportunities for cooperation with Uzbek media discussed.

An Uzbek media delegation visited Anadolu Agency headquarters in Ankara on Friday.

Uzbekistan International Press Club Chairman Sherzodkhan Kudratkhodjaev and his delegation was welcomed by Anadolu Agency's International News Editor-in-Chief Faruk Tokat and World News Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ozturk at the agency.

Opportunities for cooperation between Anadolu Agency and the Uzbek press were discussed during the meeting. Anadolu Agency's International Operations Director Ural Yesil was also present at the meeting.

Tokat and Ozturk responded to questions after briefing the delegation about Anadolu Agency's principles of journalism, its future projects and its international operations.

"We want to benefit from Anadolu Agency's deep experience. We aim to foster a partnership with Anadolu Agency in various fields," Kudratkhodjaev said.

"For years, Uzbekistan and Turkey have fostered deep and positive relations. We want to develop our relations in various fields especially in the news and media sector," he added.

He also pointed out the significance of media in the present age.

Kudratkhodjaev said they wanted to forge relations in line with Uzbekistan's new President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's vision.

Mirziyoyev, 60, became the new Uzbek leader in Dec., 2016 after his long-serving predecessor, Islam Karimov, died in September, the same year, after 27 years in office.

Mirziyoyev has launched a five-year development plan -- the "Strategy of Action" -- to run until 2021. -
