The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that, due to the ceremonies for the 103rd anniversary of the Republic, some roads—primarily Vatan Avenue—will be closed to traffic on Saturday, October 24, and Thursday, October 29. The rehearsal for the official parade has been moved to Saturday because of the KPSS exam on October 25. Closures will begin at 05:45 and continue until the end of the program; drivers will be directed to alternative routes such as Turgut Özal Millet Avenue, Fevzipaşa Avenue, and D-100.
Due to the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic, some roads in Istanbul, primarily Vatan Avenue, will be closed to traffic on October 24 and October 29. Transportation will be directed to alternative routes.
REHEARSAL MOVED TO SATURDAY DUE TO KPSS
The statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office regarding the matter is as follows: "The 103rd anniversary of our Republic will be celebrated enthusiastically with ceremonies to be held in our Istanbul. The rehearsal of the official parade to be held on Vatan Avenue on Thursday, October 29, 2026, will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, due to the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) to be held on Sunday, October 25.
For the traffic measures to be taken, a total of 111 personnel will be assigned at 58 points, including 22 teams, 28 MTS elements, 36 foot personnel, and 3 tow trucks.
On the rehearsal day, Saturday, October 24, and on the ceremony day, Thursday, October 29, the roads to be closed to traffic from 05:45 until the end of the program and the alternative routes are specified below."
