"WE ARE ESTABLISHING A CYBER SECURITY DIRECTORATE"
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the "Stratcom Forum'24" program organized by the Presidency of Communications in Istanbul. Speaking at the program, Cevdet Yılmaz stated, "We will create a new institutional structure in Turkey. We are establishing a strong Cyber Security Directorate under our Presidency. In this way, we will take our institutional structure, which accredits and audits products, companies, and processes, and contributes to the proper management of these processes, one step further. We will present this law to our parliament when the agenda of the Assembly allows. Additionally, we will carry out a complementary regulation with a presidential decree." he said.
"ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WILL CONTRIBUTE 15.7 TRILLION DOLLARS"
Noting that a profound transformation process is taking place in every area of life with the development of groundbreaking technologies, Yılmaz said, "Especially artificial intelligence technologies are rapidly making new advancements every day, progressing at a pace that cannot be compared to any transformation in history. ChatGPT reached 1 million users in just five days after its launch in November 2022. As of this month, it has more than 300 million active users weekly, and users send over 1 billion messages daily. This growth rate indicates how extensive the potential impact of artificial intelligence could be in the future. According to the McKinsey report, it is estimated that by 2030, the contribution of artificial intelligence to the global economy could reach 15.7 trillion dollars. It is believed that 6.6 trillion dollars of this increase will come from rising productivity, while 9.1 trillion dollars will stem from consumption effects," he said.
