Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz responded to allegations that Turkey's leading companies do not pay taxes. Speaking on a live broadcast, Yılmaz said, "Some companies indeed do not pay taxes. But you need to analyze why they don't pay. The reason is this; our tax law includes various exceptions and exemptions. For example, when you make an investment, you obtain tax exemption in return."

Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz made a statement regarding the allegations that some companies do not pay taxes. Yılmaz explained why these companies do not pay taxes, saying, "The reason is this; we have various exceptions and exemptions in our tax law. For example, you make an investment and in return, you obtain tax exemption."

Posts about companies not paying taxes became a topic of discussion on social media in recent days. Many citizens shared screenshots of their inquiries, claiming that Turkey's leading companies, including numerous e-commerce, jewelry, and food and beverage brands, do not pay taxes. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance had made a statement regarding the issue. The written statement emphasized that the examinations by the Ministry's teams are ongoing and stated that with the new regulation, taxpayers who do not pay taxes will pay a minimum of 10% tax on their corporate earnings.

"SOME COMPANIES REALLY DO NOT PAY TAXES"

Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz also made a statement regarding the trending topic. Speaking on Habertürk TV, Yılmaz said, "Some companies really do not pay taxes. But you need to analyze why they do not pay. The reason is this; we have various exceptions and exemptions in our tax law. For example, you make an investment and in return, you obtain tax exemption. That's why you don't pay taxes. Even if you make a profit, you say, 'I made an investment.' The incentive certificate you receive provides you with an exemption."

"THEY WILL PAY AT LEAST 10% TAX"

Yılmaz stated, "Regardless of the exceptions and exemptions, we have introduced a minimum of 10% corporate tax based on their profitability before these. Therefore, from now on, no matter which incentive certificate they receive, companies will have paid at least 10% tax. We are overcoming this problem in this way."

"BUREAUCRACY WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO ERASE THE PRINCIPAL"

Yılmaz also provided information about the reconciliation mechanism, saying, "The reconciliation mechanism works as follows: when a dispute arises between the administration and the taxpayer, they come together and reach an agreement on a figure. In our current practice, we did not forgive the principal under any circumstances. We have now included this in the laws as well. In other words, even if the bureaucracy wants to, they will no longer be able to erase the principal; at most, they will be able to reduce the penalties and interest. We have introduced this practice for the first time with this package."
