Wall Street Closes Higher With Oil Gains

Wall Street closed higher Friday with a rise in oil prices.

The Dow added 141 points to end the day at 20,804 and the S&P rose 16 points to 2,381.

The Nasdaq increased 28 points to finish trading at 6,083.

At the final bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading at $50.37 -- a 2.1 percent gain. International benchmark Brent crude was up 2.2 percent to $53.65.

Crude oil prices gained 5.5 percent for the week after Saudi Arabia and Russia announced Monday they would extend a production limitation deal until March.

Wall Street indexes, however, posted weekly losses.

The Dow and the S&P each lost 0.4 percent while the Nasdaq fell 0.6 percent for the week. -
