Warm Temperatures Prompt Early Surge In Diving Tourism In Turkish Town Of Kusadasi

29.04.2024 12:57

Demand for diving high thanks to sunny weather and calm sea, diving instructor tells Anadolu.

The above-average temperatures of the season have led to an early start for diving tourism this year in Kusadasi district of Türkiye's western Aydin province, which is famous for its underwater beauties.

Kusadasi, nestled among nature and blue flag beaches, ranks as one of the premier vacation spots for tourists.

It offers both local and foreign visitors the opportunity to explore the unique beauties of the Aegean Sea by diving into its turquoise waters.

High temperatures observed in April revived diving tourism in the region.

In the city, where seven diving centers operate, tourists witness the beauty of the underwater world by diving at 13 reef points, including one of the world's largest wrecked airplanes, the Airbus A300, a single-engine airplane, and a cave.

Speaking to Anadolu, diving instructor Tagmac Saracoglu said that the diving season started early this year and the demand is increasing day by day.

"The good weather made the season more lively compared to previous years. There has been an increase in diving activity," Saracoglu said.

The demand for diving was high thanks to the sunny weather, calm sea as well as lack of rain and wind, Saracoglu noted.

Saracglu said that besides the warm water sources, there are also old stone anchors and ceramic pieces under the sea.

Ross Urquhart, who came from Scotland, said that he was diving for the first time.

"I encountered many underwater creatures here. I recommend diving to everyone," Urquhart said.
