Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, in his statement following the alleged tension between Turkey and Azerbaijan, called for vigilance against "false flag" operations and provocations, emphasizing that common sense and the law of brotherhood should be taken as the basis in relations between the two countries.
Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and AK Party Ankara Deputy, emphasized “common sense and the law of brotherhood” in his social media post following the tension alleged to have occurred in recent days in Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations. He stated that caution should be exercised against “false flag” operations and provocations that could target the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world.
A meaningful message came from Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and AK Party Ankara Deputy, regarding the disputes alleged to have taken place between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in recent days, drawing attention to the importance of relations between the two countries. Stating that Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations have been strengthened on the basis of alliance with the motto “One Nation, Two States” and that the integration process of the Turkic world is progressing under the roof of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Oktay pointed out that caution should be exercised against initiatives that could lead to divergence in this process.

Emphasizing that it is natural to have different views alongside common ground, Oktay stated that what really matters is being able to evaluate these differences within the framework of mutual understanding and the law of brotherhood. Stating that common sense should be exercised against initiatives seeking to harm the common future, Oktay drew attention to the importance of preserving the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.

Raising the questions of who is disturbed by the strengthening of the Turkic world and who would benefit from the deterioration of Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations, Oktay emphasized that these matters should be evaluated with an approach that will further strengthen unity and solidarity.
