Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a memorandum of understanding has been signed regarding the establishment of weekly 7 frequency flights between Bahrain, Jordan, and Rize-Artvin Airport. Minister Uraloğlu stated in a written announcement that a new memorandum of understanding was signed with Bahrain and Jordan during the International Civil Aviation Negotiations Event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 19 to 24, 2024. Uraloğlu said, "Under the agreements made with Bahrain and Jordan, the authority to operate weekly 7 frequency flights on the Rize-Artvin-Bahrain and Rize-Artvin-Amman routes has been granted to the carriers of both countries." "RIZE WILL GAIN MOMENTUM IN TOURISM"Uraloğlu noted that the signed memorandum of understanding has provided the necessary legal and commercial framework to initiate air travel between Bahrain and Rize, emphasizing that such agreements strengthen Turkey's role in international aviation. He stated, "With these flights, the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage will become more accessible to tourists. Especially Rize, which stands out with nature tourism, plateau tourism, and cultural trips, will gain significant momentum in tourism with the new routes. This will revitalize the local economy, support commercial activities, and enhance the region's promotion on an international scale. Thus, the most efficient evaluation of Rize's tourist and economic potential will be ensured."
