"When will it snow in Istanbul? A date was given in the live broadcast."

Famous meteorologist Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated that winter will be normal and that snow in Istanbul is expected at the end of December or the beginning of January. The strong winds and heavy rain that affected Istanbul last week brought the first snowfall of the year to the city's higher elevations. Snow fell in Pendik, Sultanbeyli, Kartal, and around the airport.

Speaking to CNN Türk, Meteorology Expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen shared important information regarding snowfall in Istanbul. Şen stated that this winter season will be normal and made the following statement:

"In my opinion, this year will be a normal winter. There is snowfall in Turkey's average for December. When will it snow in Istanbul? There is nothing like that in the next 10 days. Temperatures are rising this weekend, reaching up to 15 degrees. Today it is around 12 degrees. We cannot say that it will not snow at all in December, but when we look at the general assessment, it could be the last week of December or the first week of January. Of course, saying it snowed on Aydos Hill does not mean it snowed in Istanbul. When we say it will snow in Istanbul, it needs to snow in Levent, Aksaray, and Esenler."
