Gizem Kenger, who graduated from the Computer Teaching Department of Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, started researching what she could do at home after getting married two years ago. Noticing that women are interested in home decorations, Kenger decided to work in this field.

SHE TRANSFORMED A ROOM OF HER HOUSE INTO A WORKSHOP

Participating in KOSGEB's Young Entrepreneurs program and benefiting from the 'Entrepreneurship Support Program', Kenger started working by transforming a room of her house into a workshop a year ago. By establishing her company and purchasing molds for the home decoration products she would make, Kenger began production and uploaded her products to the e-commerce platform. Waiting for her first order with the fear of 'Will my efforts go to waste?', Kenger experienced great joy upon receiving a request from Malatya.

"I WILL NEVER FORGET MY FIRST ORDER"

Aiming to export her products to all corners of the world through online trade, Gizem Kenger stated, "'I started this job with research on 'What can I do at home?'. In my research, I examined what women liked. After identifying women's interest in home decoration products, I decided to work in this field. Since I didn't have a budget, I benefited from the Entrepreneurship Support Program under KOSGEB's Young Entrepreneurs program. I applied to KOSGEB by establishing a company. I started my activities by benefiting from the support KOSGEB provides to women entrepreneurs. I moved into production by purchasing the molds and raw materials for the products I would make. I started waiting for my first order by uploading my products to the e-commerce platform. I was very curious about whether they would sell. After all, they might not sell. While I was excitedly waiting, wondering 'Will my efforts go to waste?', the first order came from Malatya. I will never forget that first order. After that order, more followed. Then I started sending orders to multiple provinces across Turkey. After that, I began exporting to 5 different countries. I send my products to Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait. My biggest goal is to export my products all over the world," she said.

"NEVER GIVE UP"

Kenger, who expressed that she had many concerns when she started her journey, gave the following advice to women entrepreneurs like herself: "Never give up. Keep walking on the path you believe in. Of course, there will be setbacks and negative situations, but let this always take you one step further. Please do not look back. Never give up. Everyone faces negativity. There are also negatives on this path, but they should never look back. They should always look forward and believe that they will succeed. When they believe and do not give up, success will come to them. The hardest part of this job is obtaining raw materials. Because the raw material you will buy is at least 30 kilograms. It may seem small in terms of kilograms, but as a woman, carrying it is, I think, the hardest part of the job. 'How will I carry it, how will I bring it home?' I struggled a lot at that point. But just as the end of everything difficult is beautiful, the end of this was also beautiful. Sometimes we cannot obtain very high-quality products. Due to both production and raw materials, sometimes we may receive defective products due to the molds as well. Instead of throwing these products away, we send them to village schools. Our students in village schools use them in painting activities. We have flower pots. They can plant flowers in them and use them in different places. Having my brand in people's homes, in the most beautiful corner of their homes, is my biggest motivation. 'Luanda Home', which started in this room in Erzincan, has opened up to the whole world."
