After being missing for 19 days in the village of Tavşantepe, located in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, the lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran was found. A verdict was announced in the case regarding her murder. The court sentenced brother Enes Güran, mother Yüksel Güran, and uncle Salim to aggravated life imprisonment, while Nevzat Bahtiyar received a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison. The ruling stated that mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and uncle Salim Güran jointly killed Narin. The ruling included the following statements: "It has been established that defendant Salim Güran, in conjunction with other defendants Yüksel Güran and Enes Güran, committed the crime of 'intentional murder' against the victim Narin Güran, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment in accordance with Article 81/1 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237. Due to the fact that the victim was the daughter of defendant Yüksel and the sister of defendant Enes, and that the victim was jointly killed by the defendants, it has been decided to sentence the defendant to aggravated life imprisonment in accordance with Article 82/1-d-e of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237."
