Abdullah Avcı, whose name has been mentioned for the head coach position of the A National Team, left the door open for the job. The experienced coach, stating that there is not yet a clear situation, said, "Waiting, watching and seeing is the best."
Avcı, who came to RAMS Park to watch the Galatasaray-Barcelona match in the UEFA Champions League, made exclusive remarks to an AA correspondent.
LEFT THE DOOR OPEN After the parting of ways with Italian coach Vincenzo Montella, Avcı, whose name was mentioned for the Turkish national team head coach position, said, “Having my name mentioned is a very nice thing. The national team is a very special and valuable place. As a head coach who has worked both in the youth national team and the senior national team, having my name mentioned makes me happy. To speak realistically, as of now there is no such situation clearly. Serving Turkish football, the country, and the flag is an environment that every head coach wants, desires, and believes they will achieve. As someone who has experienced this, we will continue to experience these feelings in this way. We have no choice but to say of any decision to be made, ‘May it be auspicious for Turkish football.’ As of now, waiting, watching, and seeing is the best. Whatever is best for the country's football, let it be.” he said.
Avcı, who has not coached a team for about 2 years after leaving Trabzonspor, said, “I am a head coach who has worked for a long time. I don't have very long gaps. I have not been someone who consumes too much. I have only worked at three clubs and the Turkish national team. During this process, I was selective. I received offers from 10-12 clubs at home and abroad. Either you have to compete or realize a project. As of now, I have not had such a preference. A little rest, and while doing this, we work with my team on both league and international level.” he stated.
The experienced coach, regarding the Galatasaray-Barcelona match, expressed his view: “Since it is Champions League level, we are here to see these games live. I hope it will be a good week for Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Trabzonspor, who will appear in European cups. I wish success to both Galatasaray and our other teams that will play tomorrow and Thursday. I hope there will be matches that make our country happy.”
