The Access Provider (BTK) had imposed an access ban on the popular social media platform due to the removal of the condolence messages posted by the Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun on Instagram following the killing of Hamas leader Haniyeh.

Today, an important meeting will take place to open Instagram, which has been inaccessible since Friday. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that he will meet with Instagram officials at 13.00 today.

Uraloğlu made the following statement regarding the meeting: "Last week, a meeting was held with the officials of the social media platform Instagram, which we imposed an access ban on due to its policies applied within the framework of catalog crimes. During the meeting, our sensitivities regarding compliance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey were conveyed. We will meet with them again this afternoon. We hope that they will fulfill our demands and expect positive developments."
