Will Israel launch a ground operation in Lebanon? There is a statement from the Pentagon.

As Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon continue since September 23, U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) Spokesperson Sabrina Singh stated that a ground operation by Israel against Lebanon is not expected in the near future.

"WE WANT A SOLUTION TO PREVENT WAR"

In her statement, Singh said, "We absolutely do not want any steps that could lead to further escalation of tensions in the region. We want to see a solution that will prevent a diplomatic and total war." Singh also added that the U.S. is not providing intelligence support to Israel in its attacks on Lebanon.

GROUND OPERATION SIGNALS HAD BEEN RECEIVED

On the other hand, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi had stated to the troops on the Lebanese border that the ongoing airstrikes on Lebanon were intended to prepare the ground for a possible ground operation.
