Responding to the question "Will you leave the party?", Özel said, "At the point where we are left with no choice, we will do what we must, but our primary motivation is not to establish a new party. Our primary motivation is to take back our party and our country."

Stating that they will continue their political struggle under the CHP roof, Özel said: "The party we are talking about is one whose first congress is considered the Sivas Congress. This is not a party that can be easily abandoned or left behind. What has been done against us is part of an election system in Turkey.

It is based on objections and finalization, as in the rest of the world. There is an appellate court decision that ignores the congress held 3 years ago, teleports us back 6 years, and also disregards the congress organized again last year when the time came. This has no legitimacy. By taking a precautionary measure following the instruction given to them, they bring the issue to a point of no solution. Those here, emboldened by this, say 'we will not hold a congress' and ostensibly force us to leave the party. You have lost an election in this party, then returned without any initiative, and you are referred to as an April 1st person.
At a point where we are desperate, we will do what we must, but our main motivation is not to form a new party. Our main motivation is to take back our party and our country.
