Millions of workers, while waiting to retire after paying premiums for many years, are curious about the amount of salary they will receive upon retirement. It has been stated that if the retirement application is not made by certain dates, it is possible to face significant cuts in their salaries. IŞIKHAN CONFIRMED THE ALLEGATIONSRegarding this issue, which has been on the agenda for a long time and has been commented on extensively, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated that those who will retire in 2025 will receive 30% less salary, and that the difference for those who apply for retirement in the last month of 2024 and in 2025 will not change. SO WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE DIFFERENCE?According to a report by Türkiye newspaper; Minister Işıkhan explained the reasons for the differences in retirement salaries for 2024 and 2025 during his presentation to the AK Party group, stating, "Especially during inflationary periods, the monthly increases being given above the CPI disrupts the connection between the update coefficient and the monthly increases. This causes significant differences in the salaries received by those who retire this year and those who retire the following year." Işıkhan said the following regarding retirement salaries in his presentation: "In 2025; assuming that the past year's premiums, the CPI rate for 2024 is 45%, and the growth rate is 6%, the update coefficient for 2024 will be 46.8. Premiums will be updated with this rate, and there will be a difference of approximately 40 points between the monthly increase for 2024 and the update coefficient. This situation will cause a difference of about 30% in the retirement salaries of SSK and Bağ-Kur members who do not retire this year but postpone it to next year."
