The eyes of millions of citizens are turned to the December inflation. The inflation figures will be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) tomorrow at 10:00 AM. With inflation, the new salaries of civil servants, retired civil servants, and worker retirees will be revealed. There will also be an increase in the severance pay ceiling, paid military service fee, old-age and disability pensions, and home care support.

INFLATION EXPECTATIONS

The December 2024 inflation is expected to be 1.61%. If the inflation aligns with expectations, the 6-month inflation figure will be 16.42%.

CIVIL SERVANT AND RETIREE SALARY INCREASE RATE

If the inflation forecast is followed, retiree salaries will show an increase of 16.42%. The salary increase rate for civil servants and retired civil servants due to collective bargaining and inflation difference will be 12.18%.

SEVERANCE PAY CEILING

With the minimum wage, the base amount for severance pay has risen to 26,004 lira. The severance pay ceiling is determined by the civil servant salary increase rate. Within the framework of inflation expectations, it will rise from 41,827 lira to over 46,920 lira. The new figure will be redefined to take effect from January 1. The final figure will be determined after the confirmation of the 6-month inflation figures and the change in the civil servant monthly coefficient by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

PAID MILITARY SERVICE FEE

The paid military service fee is also being redefined according to the civil servant monthly coefficient.

According to calculations, the paid fee of 217,871 lira will exceed 244,000 lira in 2025.

OLD-AGE PENSION

Since the civil servant increase causes a rise in salary coefficients, there will also be an increase in payments for those receiving old-age pensions, disability pensions, home care pensions, and support.

Accordingly, the old-age pension will approach 4,690 lira from 4,180 lira.

DISABILITY PENSION

The pension for those with a disability rate between 40-69% will be updated from 3,338 lira to 3,743 lira,

The pension for those with a disability rate of 70% and above will be updated from 5,007 lira to 5,616 lira,

The pension for disabled relatives will be updated from 2,798 lira to 3,358 lira.

HOME CARE ASSISTANCE

Home care assistance will increase from 9,077 lira to 10,180 lira.

CHILD ASSISTANCE

Preschool child assistance will rise from 4,312 lira to 4,837 lira, assistance for children attending primary school will rise from 6,468 lira to 7,255 lira, and assistance for children attending secondary education will rise from 6,899 lira to 7,739 lira.
