According to a report in Sport, the Catalan team contacted Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who announced his retirement from football after his contract with Italian giant Juventus expired this summer, following Ter Stegen's season-ending injury. Since he is a free agent, Szczesny could join the team directly if the transfer takes place.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper announced his retirement from football a month ago. Szczesny stated, "I have given 18 years of my life to the game without excuses.
