Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç responded to the allegations that the judge presiding over the case involving Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu was removed, stating, "The judge you mentioned is the one whose recusal was requested by the IBB President's lawyer."

The claim that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu insulted the members of the Supreme Election Council has been denied by Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, regarding allegations that the judge was transferred to Samsun.

İMAMOĞLU'S LAWYERS REQUESTED TO DISMISS THE JUDGE

Tunç spoke during the ongoing budget discussions in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). In response to the allegations that the judge in the case against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was transferred to Samsun, Tunç showed a request made by İmamoğlu's lawyer to the members of parliament.

Tunç stated, "In the ongoing trial against the İBB President, some members of parliament expressed their views regarding the claim that the judge conducting the trial was transferred to Samsun. The judge you mentioned is the one that the İBB President's lawyer said, 'We doubt your impartiality, we dismiss you.' You are reacting when the judge you dismissed is appointed by the HSK," he expressed.
