China's yuan outperformed the dollar in terms of trading volume on the Moscow Exchange for the first time on record, Russian media reported on Thursday.
"The yuan-ruble trading with payments tomorrow totaled 45.4 bln rubles ($756.9 million), while the dollar-ruble trading volume was 43.7 bln rubles ($730.2 million)," according to TASS news agency.
The volume of trading in the euro was 49.9 billion rubles ($833.9 million) at the same time.
The greenback lost 2% on a daily basis to 59.53 rubles on Thursday, while the yuan fell 2.08% to 8.77 rubles. -
