Following the arrest and suspension of Muhittin Böcek and his son Gökhan Böcek in an investigation targeting Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek also filed a remorse application. In the scope of the bribery and corruption investigation against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality affiliated with CHP, following the arrest and suspension of Muhittin Böcek and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, the daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek has also applied to benefit from the provisions of effective remorse.

HER SUPPLEMENTARY STATEMENT REVEALED

Zuhal Böcek's supplementary statement given to the prosecutor's office has been revealed. Zuhal Böcek stated that during the candidacy process of Muhittin Böcek, her husband Gökhan Böcek personally went to the CHP headquarters accompanied by her and delivered a "large amount of money." The meetings at the headquarters in Ankara, mysterious meetings in the Grand Bazaar, and details of "1 million Euros" were recorded.

THE ALLEGED BRIEFCASE TAKEN TO CHP HEADQUARTERS

In the statement included in the investigation file, Zuhal Böcek conveyed that during one of her husband Gökhan Böcek's trips to Ankara, he said he would "deliver money to the headquarters." Böcek, describing how they went to a hotel through a person they met on the plane, stated that the next day she personally took her husband to the headquarters.

The most striking detail in the statement was the backpack Gökhan Böcek constantly carried. Böcek said she remembered him entering the headquarters with this backpack, but could not clearly recall the condition of the backpack when he came out.

A phone call made on the road also stood out as one of the critical points of Zuhal Böcek's statement. Böcek said her husband spoke on the phone with Veli Ağbaba while going to the headquarters.

WHEN THE CANDIDACY ANNOUNCEMENT WAS DELAYED, GÖKHAN COMPLAINED, "WE PAID SO MUCH MONEY"

Another striking part of the statement text pertains to the candidacy process. Zuhal Böcek reported that her husband frequently mentioned that a significant amount of money was given for his father's mayoral candidacy. Böcek stated that complaints like "We paid so much money, and it still hasn't been announced" were discussed at home, emphasizing that the process caused serious stress in her husband.

She also mentioned that at one point, the phrase "1 million Euros" came up, but she did not know the source of this money.

MYSTERIOUS MEETING IN THE GRAND BAZAAR, CODED MONEY TO A MONEY CHANGER

Zuhal Böcek described that Gökhan Böcek, together with E. B., who was stated to be involved in media work, entered a small money changer in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, while she waited at the door. Böcek said she was not directly a witness to the money flow inside but stated that upon exiting, her husband told her that "money was shown as a code to the money changer."

Böcek emphasized that this event stuck in her mind because it was "interesting," but stated she did not know the amount of money.

SOURCE OF MONEY UNCLEAR

In her statement, Zuhal Böcek said she had no information about who provided the money, adding that due to her father-in-law Muhittin Böcek's position, he could easily obtain money from businesspeople. Zuhal Böcek also mentioned hearing that many people provided financial contributions during the election period.

The suspect's lawyer argued that their client had no criminal intent. The lawyer stated that the client had no role in the supply, collection, or delivery of the money and that Zuhal Böcek merely accompanied her husband. Additionally, the lawyer claimed that the client did not know such payments were illegal and thought everyone made similar payments during the candidacy process.
