While Israel continues its attacks on Gaza despite the ceasefire, the death toll has risen to 418 since the announcement of the ceasefire. On the first morning of the new year, tens of thousands of people will gather in Istanbul to draw attention to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, chanting slogans like "We will not be silent, we will not be quiet, we will not forget Palestine" at the Galata Bridge.
On the first day of the new year, tens of thousands of people are gathering on the Galata Bridge to support Palestine, led by the National Will Platform and the Humanity Alliance. A walk will be organized to the bridge from different points in Istanbul after the morning prayer.
THE WALK WILL START AFTER THE MORNING PRAYER
The walk will begin after the morning prayers held at Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet, Taksim, New Mosque, Suleymaniye, and Fatih mosques.
PARTICIPATION IS EXPECTED FROM ALL OVER TURKEY
Many unions, approximately 400 non-governmental organizations, and sports clubs are also supporting the action, and participation is expected from all over Turkey, just like last year.
ATTENTION WILL BE DRAWN TO THE HUMANITARIAN DRAMA IN GAZA
The program will highlight Israel's ongoing attacks in Palestine and the humanitarian drama occurring in Gaza, despite the declaration of a ceasefire.

İbrahim Beşinci, the President of the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), called for participation in the action to be held on the first day of the new year, stating, "We expect all our citizens to come regardless of the cold weather. Artists, influencers, foundations, societies, communities, sports clubs, and our supporters should go beyond condemnation and come to the field, to the streets. They should contribute to this testimony. Let them make a conscience record in history and be here. We will never forget Palestine."
STREETS AND AVENUES HAVE BEEN CLOSED
It has been reported that preparations for the third support march for Palestine have been completed, and the streets and avenues leading to the Galata Bridge have been closed to traffic during the march. Drivers are being directed to alternative routes, and transportation to the Galata Bridge is provided by shuttle vehicles from many districts of Istanbul.
THE DEATH TOLL HAS RISEN TO 418 SINCE THE CEASEFIRE WAS DECLARED
Despite the ceasefire coming into effect on October 10 in the Gaza Strip, Israel's attacks continue. According to a statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, one person died and ten were injured in the last 48 hours due to the Israeli army's attacks in the Gaza Strip, and the bodies of two people who lost their lives in previous attacks were found in the rubble. Since the ceasefire came into effect, the death toll has risen to 418, and the number of injured has reached 1,152. Since Israel began its attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the total death toll has reached 71,269, and the number of injured has reached 171,232.
