Emergency Medical Technician Zehra Tankuş guided the mother on how to intervene with the baby, who was in danger of choking. Then, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Zehra Tankuş, who took the call, guided the mother on how to intervene with the baby who was in danger of drowning. The mother, who followed Tankuş's instructions to the letter, could not hold back her tears when her baby started to breathe.
NILÜFER BABY SURVIVED
Tankuş helped to calm the mother by keeping her calm until the health teams arrived at the house and guided her on how to behave. Thanks to the correct and timely intervention, baby Nilüfer survived. The health teams arrived at the scene quickly and checked the baby's overall health condition. The family was informed that the baby had overcome the life-threatening situation due to the correct and timely first intervention.
TERRIFYING AUDIO RECORDING SHARED
Audio recordings of the conversations between the mother and the health worker were shared as a video by the Provincial Health Directorate. The audio recordings include the mother's panic and the health worker explaining how she should calm the mother down first.

In a statement, Tankuş expressed that she encouraged the mother over the phone. Stating that she experienced a proud moment, Tankuş said, "When I told her that the baby survived, the relaxation in the mother passed to us too. The mother was happy. She said the baby started to cry slowly. We gave the baby a chance to hold on to life, and that is a proud feeling for us." Tankuş was presented with a plaque of appreciation by the Provincial Health Directorate for her dedicated efforts.
