While the regulation and licensing process for the cryptocurrency market in Turkey continues, the boundaries drawn by the Capital Markets Board (CMB) clearly restrict the promotional activities of global cryptocurrency exchanges in Turkey. According to the legislation, it is explicitly prohibited for cryptocurrency platforms established abroad to advertise in Turkey, target Turkish users, and acquire customers in this way.
However, recently, a striking claim regarding MEXC Global has come to the fore. It is alleged that advertisements belonging to MEXC Global are displayed in Google searches conducted in Turkey, and users are directed to the global platform.

The use of Turkish expressions in the advertisement content and direct referrals to cryptocurrency transactions raised the question, "Are Turkish users being targeted?"
According to experts, digital advertisements are also considered as promotional and referral activities within the scope of the legislation. Therefore, it is stated that advertisements made through Google, social media, or other digital platforms are subject to regulations.
WHAT DO CMB REGULATIONS SAY? According to CMB regulations, it is prohibited for global cryptocurrency exchanges to conduct advertising, campaigns, or referral activities targeting individuals residing in Turkey. The purpose of this regulation is to protect investors from high risks and to create a verifiable market structure in Turkey.
In this context, the question of whether the referrals made through Google advertisements also fall under the same prohibition has come to the fore.
