In Adana, Burcu, a mother of three and a teacher, filed for divorce, claiming that her second husband, B.K., had subjected her to violence. She stated that she had been threatened, which led her to change her workplace, and that recently, B.K. took her car without permission. Burcu K. said, "He has also learned my new address. I cannot escape from this man in any way."

Burcu Kara (36), a mother of three who has been working as a science teacher in Adana for 13 years, filed for divorce, claiming that her second husband B.K. (36) subjected her to violence.

Kara, who has two children from her first marriage, married B.K. (36) on February 3, 2023. Shortly after her marriage, she claimed that she began to experience physical violence from her husband.

HER LEG WAS BROKEN, HER BODY WAS FILLED WITH BRUISES

Kara alleged that during her pregnancy, she suffered a severe blow that resulted in a broken leg and bruises on her eyes and body. She stated that she had obtained several restraining orders against her husband and filed for divorce on March 6, 2024.

"HE TOOK THE CAR AND DISAPPEARED"

In the ongoing case, Burcu Kara claimed to have experienced another shock, stating, "On the visitation day, B.K., who came to see his child with a psychologist and police, took the opportunity while I went to the bathroom to steal the car keys from my bag, and then took the car and disappeared."

Teams from the Auto Theft Bureau of the Adana Police Department have initiated efforts to capture the suspect B.K.

After the incident, Burcu Kara made the following statement:

"I married B.K. in 2023, and I have been trying to get a divorce since then. Due to legal loopholes, I cannot escape from this person. On the day of the incident, he came to see my daughter with a psychologist. While I was going to the bathroom, he took the car keys from my bag and took the car. I reported it to the police, but since we are married, it is not considered auto theft. If I had been divorced, it would have been classified as theft. Right now, only 'abuse of trust' can be processed."

"HE KIDNAPPED MY 3-MONTH-OLD BABY"

Burcu Kara claimed that she had previously experienced a similar trauma, stating, "He kidnapped my 3-month-old baby from in front of our house. He constantly subjected me to violence. The Ministry of National Education changed my workplace to protect me. He learned my new address as well. I cannot escape from this man in any way."

"MY LIFE HAS BEEN TURNED UPSIDE DOWN"

Describing the violence she experienced while pregnant, Kara said, "Nine months of our one-year marriage were during my pregnancy. My leg was broken, my eye was bruised, and I had bruises all over my body. My life has been turned upside down because of this person. I want justice for myself and my children. I want my car to be found and to get divorced as soon as possible."
