David Beckham, the owner of the MLS team Inter Miami, also purchased the fourth division team Salford City in England. Boss Beckham fired 17 players all at once before the end of the season.
Former English footballer David Beckham has now firmly turned his focus back to his hometown of England following his investment in Inter Miami.
Beckham has become the main owner of Salford City, a team in the English Fourth Division, of which he has been a minority partner for some time. Along with his former Manchester United teammates Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, and Nicky Butt, Beckham is now the sole owner of the club alongside Gary Neville.
SACKED 17 PLAYERS BEFORE THE SEASON ENDED
The new management's first move was quite radical. Salford City, which finished the season in eighth place, parted ways with a total of 17 players before the season ended.
It was notable that fan favorite and club legend Matthew Lund was also on this list. This mass departure signals an intense summer transfer period for the club in the Manchester suburbs. Beckham and Neville's determination to reshape the club was clearly demonstrated by these decisive actions. It remains to be seen how Salford City will restructure under the new ownership.
