In his statement, İmamoğlu said, "I am very glad on behalf of our country that a period that cost the lives of tens of thousands of Turkish and Kurdish citizens, which drained our resources, is finally coming to an end. It is now time for conversation, dialogue, politics, and action. There are things we need to do both inside and outside to ensure we do not return to those bad days."
HE POINTED TO THE PARLIAMENT
In his statement, İmamoğlu pointed to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) and said, "Such a significant and important process cannot be conducted through meetings held behind closed doors by a small number of politicians, as the government attempts, without the support and approval of society, without involving experts, and without the minimum democratic conditions such as freedom of expression and organization. Again, such a significant and important process cannot be successfully achieved with a perspective that focuses on short-term gains and winning elections while neglecting the regional dimension of the issue."

He added, "We will work together to build a system that will lift our nation out of the whirlpool of poverty it has fallen into; a system that works, produces, earns, and shares fairly. Days when Turks and Kurds will live together in peace and prosperity are not far away."
