Ahmet Davutoğlu, the leader of the Future Party, described the PKK's decision to lay down arms as a historic step and thanked the architects of the process, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Devlet Bahçeli.
The decision of the terrorist organization PKK to end armed struggle and dissolve the organization at its 12th Extraordinary Congress has become one of the hottest topics on the political agenda. Following the decision, a statement regarding the process also came from Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Chairman of the Future Party and former Prime Minister.

Davutoğlu, who was a guest on the Yeni Bir Sabah program hosted by İsmail Küçükkaya on Halk TV, described the PKK's dissolution decision as "historic" and thanked the individuals and institutions that played a role in shaping the process. Davutoğlu stated, "We owe thanks to those who have been preparing the groundwork for this decision for 7 months, especially to our President, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, MIT, and everyone who supported us."
"THE PROCESS MUST PROCEED QUICKLY AND CAREFULLY"
Davutoğlu emphasized that spreading the disbandment of the armed structure over time could carry serious risks, stating that the process should be managed without delay and with caution.
"A JOINT MECHANISM SHOULD BE ESTABLISHED"
Davutoğlu expressed that the disarmament process should not merely turn into a symbolic step, stating, "In order to secure this process, a joint mechanism should be established with the participation of the parties. Otherwise, steps that are spread over time become vulnerable to provocations."
