According to a joint press release from the Tübingen Prosecutor's Office and the Reutlingen Police Department, a person shot and killed four family members before committing suicide in the Reutlingen district of the city of Tübingen, located in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The statement reported that the 63-year-old man first killed his 60-year-old sister, who lived in a different part of the district, then his two sons, aged 27 and 29, who worked at the family business, and finally returned home to murder his 57-year-old wife before taking his own life. It was also noted that the weapon used in the incident was found next to the bodies of the man and his wife.
THE MASSACRE WAS REVEALED WHEN THE CAREGIVER CAME TO THE HOUSE
The police stated that the massacre came to light when the caregiver of the 60-year-old sister arrived at the house, noticed the body, and reported it to the authorities. The investigation revealed that the family members had been shot and killed with the same weapon.
The Tübingen Prosecutor's Office indicated that the incident is being investigated as "domestic murder followed by suicide," and in light of the existing evidence, the 63-year-old German father is considered the main suspect in the family massacre.
