The leader of the BBP, Mustafa Destici, responded to the harsh criticisms from the MHP following his opposition to the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı, stating, "We are astonished to see those who object to the legitimization of the PKK being accused of benefiting from terrorism." Destici emphasized that they are not directly targeting anyone and that, like everyone else, the BBP will continue to express its views on the process.

The leader of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, responded to the harsh criticism from the MHP following the criticisms regarding the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı at a press conference held at his party's headquarters. Destici stated, "We are astonished and appalled to see those who object to the legitimization of the PKK being accused of benefiting from terrorism."

"IT IS ESSENTIALLY AN OFFER TO GO TO ÖCALAN'S FEET"

In a statement regarding the process conducted through Imralı, Mustafa Destici said, "The meeting with Imralı is a veiled and indirect expression. It is essentially an offer to go to Öcalan's feet. It is unacceptable to legalize and sympathize with a terrorist leader who has betrayed our country for 40 years and has established and led the world's most bloody and treacherous terrorist organization; it is contrary to law and public conscience. No major country can make peace with someone who has become 'public enemy no.1'. This situation encourages those who will declare war on the state and society in the future," he stated.

HARSH REACTION FROM MHP: WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO GAIN?

Following Destici's remarks, MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir made a harsh statement targeting the BBP leader. Özdemir addressed Destici, recalling his presence at official openings and protocol ceremonies, and his visits to the ministries, saying, "What was your purpose while showing up at official openings and protocol ceremonies, 'paying respects' and going around the ministries with various demands and justifications? What has changed now? What does the People's Alliance mean to you? What are you trying to gain without taking any responsibility or burden for Turkey and our national goals? Who is guiding you?"

ALLEGATION OF "SECRET MEETINGS"

In his statement, Özdemir also accused Destici of aligning with circles that were allegedly involved in "secret meetings" aimed at changing the first four articles of the Constitution in the past, and posed the question, "Why does the complete end of terrorism disturb you?"

A RESPONSE FROM DESTİCİ

BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici responded to these criticisms from the MHP at a press conference held today at his party's headquarters. "We are concerned on behalf of our nation and our country. During this process, we are astonished and appalled to see those who object to the legitimization of the PKK and the summarization of the PKK's mission as a desire for peace being accused of benefiting from terrorism," said Destici, continuing his criticisms: "Of course, we will follow the developments and express our opinion and thoughts. Our nation will never compromise on the unity of our country. Our nation will never compromise on its language and identity. We trust the insight and wisdom of this noble Muslim Turkish nation. We have expressed both our beliefs and what we believe to be realistic. We have stated what has been experienced."

"WE DID NOT TARGET ANYONE, WE ARE SIMPLY EXPRESSING OUR OPINION"

Destici asserted that his statements did not specifically target any individual or institution, saying, "While saying all this, we did not target anyone. We did not mention anyone's name. We did not mention the name of any institution by the PKK and its political extensions. Since everyone is expressing their opinion, of course, I and my party will express our opinion as well."
