Due to heavy rainfall in Hunan province, water levels in the Guoli River have risen. Due to the risk of flooding, it has been reported that over 53,000 people have been evacuated in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Zhangjiajie, Changde, and Huaihua.
In Hunan province in central China, a flood disaster occurred in Longshan County due to the rapid rise in water levels in the Guoli River caused by days of heavy rainfall.
53 THOUSAND PEOPLE EVACUATED
The emergency management commission office announced that as of 5:00 PM local time on Friday, more than 53,000 people have been evacuated in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Zhangjiajie, Changde, and Huaihua since the onset of the ongoing heavy rains.
The National Development and Reform Commission also announced on Friday that it has allocated 50 million yuan (approximately 6.97 million USD) from China's central budget to support flood relief and response efforts in Hunan province.
