Former AK Party Member of Parliament Metin Külünk was a guest of journalist Neşe Berber on Haberler.com. Stating that Turkey is besieged through social media, Külünk called for national unity against this process.
In the program hosted by Neşe Berber in the studio of Haberler.com, former AK Party MP Metin Külünk stated that Turkey is facing digital threats. Highlighting the manipulations carried out through social media, Külünk emphasized the importance of social solidarity.
"A DIGITAL WAR HAS BEEN DECLARED ON TURKEY"
Metin Külünk pointed out that digital platforms are being used to a degree that harms the functioning of the state, stating, "The state cannot be managed through social media." He argued that these platforms have been turned into a tool of war against Turkey and revealed the extent of this threat with the words, "A digital war has been declared on Turkey." He stressed that there should be a collective awareness against this process.
"WE MUST PROTECT OUR STRENGTH WITH OUR UNITY"
Külünk stated that this digital siege Turkey is facing can only be overcome with strong solidarity, saying, "We must protect our strength and our unity strongly and eliminate these elements that have initiated this psychological war from this country." Regarding the July 15 coup attempt, he reminded that the Turkish nation said, "We will not surrender this country," highlighting the people's will.
"INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CANNOT BE MANAGED WITH IGNORANCE"
Külünk addressed many foreign policy issues, from the U.S. policy in Syria to Turkey's effectiveness in the region. Stating that "The U.S. is withdrawing from Syria," Külünk emphasized that Turkey needs to be strong in this geography. He pointed out Turkey's strategic importance with the statement, "Without Turkey, it is not possible for America's power to continue," and stressed that international relations require expertise, saying, "International relations cannot be managed with your ignorance."
