The statement reminded that 119 people were detained; "As part of a planned and project-based investigation conducted for a long time against those engaged in the trade of drugs or stimulants; under the coordination of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, evidence obtained through planned and project-based field studies and technical and physical surveillance conducted by the Narcotics Crimes Department of the General Directorate of Security and the Narcotics Crimes Branch of the Ankara Provincial Police Department, it has been decided to simultaneously detain a total of 119 suspects identified as engaging in the trade of drugs or stimulants in 4 provinces centered in Ankara starting from April 17, 2025," it was stated.
90 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED
In the statement, it was reported that 90 of those detained were arrested, and the following expressions were used: "Apart from 11 suspects who are currently detained in penal institutions for the same and/or different crimes, a total of 94 suspects have been captured at this stage in the efforts to apprehend the suspects for whom detention orders were issued.
Of the suspects detained within the scope of the investigation, 90 of the total 94 suspects, whose judicial investigation procedures have been completed before the judicial police and who have been presented to our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to date, were arrested by the Duty Peace Criminal Court for the crime of "engaging in or providing the trade of drugs or stimulants," while judicial control measures were imposed on 4 suspects in the form of a travel ban abroad and the obligation to report to designated places on certain days.
Operations to capture the fugitives are ongoing by the Narcotics Crimes Branch of the Ankara Provincial Police Department. It is respectfully announced to the public that the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is being carried out meticulously by 4 public prosecutors under the coordination of 1 Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor, and further information regarding the progress and outcome of the investigation will be provided.
