Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev claimed that many countries are ready to supply nuclear warheads to Iran following the U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. Medvedev stated that the attacks backfired and that the exact opposite of the result targeted by U.S. President Donald Trump occurred. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also strongly condemned the attacks, stating that they were in violation of international law.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev claimed in a social media post that "many countries" are ready to supply nuclear warheads to Iran following the attacks by the United States on Iran's nuclear facilities.
In a statement made via X/Twitter, Medvedev expressed that the U.S. attacks on the three nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow backfired, and that the opposite of the result U.S. President Donald Trump aimed for occurred.
According to Medvedev, "The enrichment of nuclear material — and we can now say this openly — will continue to lead to the production of nuclear weapons in the future."
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the U.S. attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities in a statement made on Sunday.
The statement included the following remarks: "The irresponsible decision to carry out missile and bomb attacks on the territory of a sovereign state, regardless of the justification, clearly violates international law, the United Nations Charter, and United Nations Security Council resolutions."
The ministry also called for "increased efforts to stop the attacks and to bring the situation back to the framework of political and diplomatic solutions."
Later that same day, it was reported that a phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin was expected following the attacks carried out by the U.S. on Iranian territory.
