It has been revealed that a support staff member at the Kocaeli Courthouse exchanged more than 1.5 kilograms of jewelry stolen from the judicial deposit office at a jeweler.
It has been revealed that the personnel who was arrested for stealing more than 1.5 kilograms of jewelry converted the gold into cash at a jeweler.
According to the information obtained, after B.B., who was working as an assistant staff in the deposit office, did not come to work on November 11, the officials who became suspicious conducted an inventory of the jewelry and valuables.
ARRESTED
During the inventory, it was determined that some of the jewelry and money were missing. Following the incident, an investigation was initiated by the Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the investigation, B.B. was caught the next day in the Ferizli district of Sakarya. The suspect, who was taken into custody, was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
Following the incident, the Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated a judicial and administrative investigation against the deposit officer C.E., court clerks H.H.Y. and Y.A., and the director of the writing department F.Ş. A decision to suspend from duty was made against the judicial deposit officer C.E.
EXCHANGED AT A JEWELER
New information has emerged in the investigation regarding B.B., who worked as an assistant staff in the judicial deposit office and disappeared with the jewelry he had embezzled after being caught in Sakarya. It was learned that B.B. stole the items in the evidence bag piece by piece within 3-4 months to avoid drawing attention.
A total of 1156 grams of 22-carat gold, 726 grams of 14-carat gold, 80 grams of 18-carat gold, and 3 grams of 24-carat gold, along with 5 Republic gold coins and 6,400 dollars were stolen from the deposit office.
Teams examining the security camera footage within the scope of the investigation determined that the suspect exchanged the gold he stole piece by piece from the evidence bags at a jeweler.
