In the Erbaa district of Tokat, Serkan Demir opened fire on his brother with whom he was arguing over an inheritance, killing his sister-in-law. After the incident, Demir was arrested and stated that the fight arose due to a dispute over the inheritance. In his statement, he said, "My brother spoke arrogantly, a fight broke out, and I shot him with a gun."
Serkan Demir (38), who injured his brother and killed his sister-in-law due to a feud over inheritance in the Erbaa district of Tokat, has been arrested. In his statement, Demir said that a fight broke out because he got angry at his brother's "arrogant" talk.
A dispute arose between Serkan Demir and Emrah Demir (35) and his wife Safiye Demir (34), who live on the ground floor of the same building, due to the electricity being cut off in the house, as there had been a feud over inheritance for some time.
INHERITANCE DISPUTE ENDED IN BLOOD
The argument quickly escalated into a fight. Serkan Demir fired at his brother and sister-in-law with the unlicensed gun he was carrying. Emrah and Safiye Demir were injured. The injured were taken to Erbaa State Hospital by ambulances dispatched to the scene upon notification. Safiye Demir, who was hit by bullets in six parts of her body, died despite all the doctors' interventions. It was reported that Emrah Demir's treatment is ongoing.
After the incident, Serkan Demir was caught and detained by gendarmerie teams. It was learned that Emrah and Safiye Demir had gotten married about a year ago. It was stated that Safiye Demir would be buried tomorrow in the town of Karayaka.

Serkan Demir, who injured his brother and killed his wife, did not respond to the questions of the press when he was brought to Erbaa State Hospital for a medical report. After his procedures, Serkan Demir was referred to the courthouse, where he stated, "We had been having arguments for a while over inheritance and the house we live in. They cut off the electricity of the house, I went to their door to talk. My brother spoke arrogantly, a fight broke out, and I shot him with the gun." It was learned that the suspect was arrested by the judge and sent to prison.
