The incident occurred around 12:30 PM in front of İshakpaşa Elementary School on Atatürk Boulevard in the Cuma neighborhood. A dispute broke out between Hakan M. and his ex-fiancée Asel Y. after they met on the street. As the argument escalated, Hakan M. fired a gun at Asel Y. Asel Y., who was hit in the right leg, fell to the ground in a pool of blood while Hakan M. ran away.
PARENTS RUSHED TO HELP
Meanwhile, the incident was also recorded by the security camera of a business. The footage shows Hakan M. talking to Asel Y. in front of a taxi stand, pulling out a gun from his pocket, and firing at her from close range. As the injured woman writhed in pain, the suspect was seen running away. The attack took place in front of an elementary school, and the footage also showed parents waiting to pick up their children rushing to help Asel Y.
WOMEN MADE THE FIRST INTERVENTION
The first intervention for Asel Y. was made by the women waiting in front of the elementary school to pick up their children. One woman applied a tourniquet to Asel Y.'s leg, while another held an umbrella over her head to protect her from the sun. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Asel Y. was taken to İnegöl State Hospital by ambulance and it was learned that her health condition is good.
The police have launched an operation to capture the fleeing suspect.
