It has been revealed that Murat Dilsiz, who was found shot in the head at home in Güngören, was killed by his daughter E.D. E.D. will be tried along with her mother Eylem Dilsiz and her sister Rojin Dilsiz, facing a request for aggravated life imprisonment.
It has emerged that Murat Dilsiz (48), who was found dead at home with a gunshot wound to the head and was claimed to have committed suicide, was killed by his daughter E.D. (16). Following E.D.'s confessions, mother Eylem Dilsiz and sister Rojin Dilsiz were taken into custody and arrested. The indictment requested aggravated life imprisonment for E.D., Eylem Dilsiz, and Rojin Dilsiz.
The incident occurred on December 9, 2024, in an apartment on the 2nd floor of a 5-story building in the Sanayi neighborhood. Eylem Dilsiz, who called the police, said her husband had committed suicide. Health teams that arrived at the scene determined that Murat Dilsiz had died after being shot in the head. A gun was also found next to Dilsiz during the investigation. The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident.
According to allegations, E.D. told her cousin Büşra Dilsiz in Diyarbakır, where she went for the funeral, that she had shot her father. E.D. recounted to her cousin that her parents had been arguing until 2:00 AM, and after her father fell asleep, her mother handed her a gun and told her to kill her father, and that she put on gloves, climbed onto the sofa, and shot her sleeping father. After the murder, she said she threw the gloves into the building's ventilation system and then took a shower and washed her clothes, while her mother cleaned the gun with a cloth and placed it next to her father. Following this, Büşra Dilsiz went to the prosecutor's office to file a complaint. Mother Eylem Dilsiz and sister Rojin Dilsiz were taken into custody.
"WE DID NOT HEAR A GUNSHOT AT NIGHT"
Eylem Dilsiz stated in her testimony that her daughter E.D. woke her up saying she had shot her father, and when she went to check, she saw her husband lying with a gun in his hand, shot in the head. She then went back to her bed, stating that no one heard a gunshot that night, and after her children A.B.D. and A.D. went to school, she called the police, telling them her husband had committed suicide. Suspect Rojin Dilsiz said, "On the day of the incident, I woke up around 8:00 AM, got dressed, and saw my father lying in bed with blood running from his head, and I screamed, after which my sister E.D. called the police. I did not tell my sister to shoot our father."
"I WORE GLOVES SO MY FINGERPRINTS WOULD NOT SHOW"
E.D. stated in her testimony, "My father has been torturing us for a long time, constantly insulting, threatening, and beating us. On the day of the incident, my parents fought again, and thinking I could not endure any longer, I took the gun from under my father's sofa while wearing gloves and shot my father. I wore gloves so my fingerprints would not show, and later threw the gloves out of the bathroom window into the building's void. After shooting my father, I went to the room where my mother and siblings were and lay down. No one woke up while I was shooting my father; after my siblings went to school in the morning, my mother went into my father's room and saw him dead. I told my mother I shot my father, and she called the police from her phone. I did not tell the police that I shot my father."
THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE EVALUATED THAT IT COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED SOLELY BY EYLEM
The prosecutor's office evaluated that E.D. would not have the maturity level to wear gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints before the incident, throw the gloves into the building's void where it would be impossible to find them, and take a shower and wash clothes that might have gunpowder residue after the incident. Furthermore, although the incident occurred at night in the house where they all lived together, it was deemed impossible for her mother Eylem and sister Rojin, who were in the same house, not to hear the gunshot, and E.D.'s statement to her mother that she shot her father immediately after the incident and Eylem's failure to call 112 after seeing the victim had been shot was evaluated as participation in the crime.
AGGRAVATED LIFE IMPRISONMENT REQUESTED
The indictment requested aggravated life imprisonment for E.D., Eylem Dilsiz, and Rojin Dilsiz for the crime of 'deliberately killing a relative or spouse, ex-spouse, or sibling,' and a prison sentence of 5 to 8 years for the crime of 'unlicensed possession of a firearm.'
"THEY KILLED MY FATHER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT"
On the other hand, Murat Dilsiz's son Mehmet Dilsiz stated regarding his father's death, "I was in the hometown at that time; there was unrest at home. They killed my father in the middle of the night. They made false accusations to avoid punishment. They placed the blame on my sister. They are making false accusations, but my father was not that kind of person."
"WE DID NOT HEAR ANY FIGHTING NOISE"
Tradesman Oktay Demirtaş said about Murat Dilsiz, "He was our neighbor; he would greet us occasionally when passing by. If he had something in his hand, he would try to offer it to us. To us, he was a good person; we did not see any wrongdoing from him as a neighbor. We did not hear any fighting noises."
