According to the presidential decision published in the Official Gazette, the option for tradespeople in districts with a population exceeding 30,000 to keep simple accounting records under the umbrella of 'metropolitan municipalities' has been removed. With this implementation, the accounting and tax burdens of many businesses, especially restaurants and repair shops, will increase. This increase is expected to be directly reflected in prices, leading to higher costs for many products and services.
With the decision of the President published in the Official Gazette on September 9, the option for tradesmen in districts with a population exceeding 30,000, which fall under the umbrella of 'metropolitan municipality', to keep simple (flat-rate) accounting records has been removed.
THEY WILL HAVE INCREASED TAXES AND EXPENSES
With this change, the professions that will be taxed under the real method are listed, and the accounting expenses and taxes that these professions will pay will be significantly increased.
Here are the professions that will be affected by the new regulation...
a) Those engaged in the manufacturing of all kinds of goods,
b) Those engaged in the buying and selling of all kinds of goods (excluding those who operate as mobile vendors or follow markets without opening a specific workplace),
c) Those engaged in all kinds of construction-related work,
ç) Those engaged in all kinds of maintenance and repair work for motor vehicles,
d) Those operating restaurants and similar service businesses,
e) Those operating entertainment and recreation venues,
f) Those involved in urban passenger transportation activities.
IT MAY START A PRICE INCREASE FURY FROM NEEDLES TO THREADS
As a result of the implementation, small tradesmen who will be taxed under the real method will be required to pay 3 temporary taxes per year, and the obligation to keep records based on operating books or balance sheets will significantly increase costs. Economists point out that the rising costs will be directly reflected in the prices of products and goods offered by tradesmen, and it is expected that a wave of price increases for many products, from needles to threads, will begin in the coming days.
