In Altınordu, which has a history of 102 years, President Seyit Mehmet Özkan is stepping down from his position in the first team. He has reached the signing stage with investors to transfer the team.
The rooted representative of İzmir in the 2nd League, Altınordu, is ending the era of President Seyit Mehmet Özkan in the A team. Özkan, who transformed the red-blue team into Turkey's breeding club by taking over its management in 2012, is on the verge of leaving his position in the A team.
Recently, he announced his retirement decision, stating, "I am ready to transfer the name rights of the Altınordu Football Club professional team, which has competitive rights registered under TFF, namely our Altınordu Professional A Team, to individuals who have the ability and opportunity to manage it in accordance with our main slogan 'Good Individual, Good Citizen, Good Football Player,'" and Özkan has found an investor.
TANER KESTANECİ ALLEGATION
It has been learned that Seyit Mehmet Özkan has reached an agreement with Taner Kestaneci, who previously served as president of Turgutluspor, Manisaspor, and Manisa 1965 SK, and Veysel Coşkun, who served as president of the newly re-established Akhisar Belediyespor, and has come to the signing stage. The announcement is expected to be made within this week.
WILL CONTINUE TO MANAGE THE INFRASTRUCTURE
Even if Seyit Mehmet Özkan leaves the A team, he will continue to manage the infrastructure at Altınordu. Under Özkan's management, Altınordu has risen from the 3rd League to the 1st League in a 13-year process, knocking on the door of the Super League. Although Özkan previously wanted to transfer the A team, which was relegated from the 1st League in 2023, he could not find an investor. The infrastructure and A team facilities established during Özkan's era have become exemplary, and Altınordu has contributed many national players to Turkish football.
