The reference platform of the gastronomy world, TasteAtlas, has announced its list of "The 100 Best Soups in the World." In the list, the beyran soup, unique to Gaziantep cuisine, secured the second place, while a total of four soups from Turkish cuisine made it into the top 100.
TasteAtlas, one of the reference platforms in the gastronomy world, announced the list of "The 100 Best Soups in the World" as part of the TasteAtlas Awards 2025/2026. Beyran soup, unique to Gaziantep, was selected as the second-best soup in the world, securing a high position in the international ranking and once again showcasing Turkey's rich culinary culture to the world. Additionally, a total of four soups from Turkish cuisine managed to enter the top 100.
HERE ARE THE TOP 10 SOUPS IN THE WORLD
1- Vori-Vori
Vori-Vori, one of the most well-known traditional dishes of Paraguayan cuisine, was chosen by TasteAtlas as "The Best Soup in the World," taking the top spot on the list. This soup, which holds an important place among celebration dishes, is considered one of the symbols of the country's national cuisine.
2- Beyran Soup
Beyran soup, reflecting Gaziantep's rich culinary tradition, secured the second place on the list with a score of 4.5 out of 5. Known for its filling nature and energy-boosting properties, beyran is also referred to as "healing" among the public.
3- Yokohama Style Ramen
Yokohama Style Ramen, one of the prominent ramen varieties in Japanese cuisine, took the third place on the list with its rich and intense aroma.
4- Soto Betawi
Soto Betawi, one of the most popular soups in Indonesian cuisine, takes its name from the Betawi ethnic group, the indigenous people of Jakarta. With its rich content, it found its place in the fourth position.
5- Tonkotsu Ramen
Considered one of the symbols of Japanese ramen culture, Tonkotsu Ramen took the fifth place on the list.
6- Tom Kha Gai
Tom Kha Gai, one of the beloved soups of Thai cuisine, secured the sixth place with its creamy texture and sweet-sour balance. It stands out with its milder flavor and citrus notes compared to Tom Yum.
7- Lanzhou Lamian
Lanzhou Lamian, unique to Gansu Province in China, took the seventh place with its special preparation technique meaning "pulled noodles."
8- Lohikeitto (Salmon Soup)
Lohikeitto, a traditional dish of Finnish cuisine, was listed in the eighth position with its structure that brings together fresh products from the Baltic Sea.
9- Sinigang na Baboy
Sinigang na Baboy, one of the national soups of Filipino cuisine, took the ninth place with its sour taste and vegetable-rich composition.
10- Lentil Soup
Lentil soup, one of the indispensable dishes of Turkish cuisine, managed to enter the top 10 with its simplicity and high nutritional value, gaining appreciation worldwide.
FOUR SOUPS FROM TURKISH CUISINE IN THE TOP 100
In the list announced by TasteAtlas, in addition to beyran and lentil soup, two more Turkish soups made it into the top 100.
Tomato soup is in the 55th position, while sheep's head soup is in the 63rd position on the list.
